Although cancer research continues to evolve, few fields continue to undergo such explosive growth as tumor angiogenesis.

Following the previous successful MACC meetings, the 5th Mediterranean Alps Cancer Conference (MACC 5) will focus on the basic biology and preclinical and clinical development of Anti-Angiogenic Agents, and evaluate clinical trials and their use for specific malignancies.
The 2007 Conference will enhance participants' understanding of the principles that drive tumor angiogenesis and the development of therapies designed to inhibit the angiogenic process in cancer. Highlights of the symposium include the following:
  		•  In-depth discussion on basic science of mechanisms of angiogenesis.
  		• An update on tools for anti-angiogenic therapy.
  		• Results from clinical trials with anti-angiogenic therapy including colorectal cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and renal cell carcinoma.

    The invited faculty comprises leaders in the fields of biology and oncology who are actively involved in the investigation of and have extensive experience with angiogenesis and its inhibition.
